2017 Palma Superyacht Show - an Unrivalled Sensory Experience

While this year's inaugural Refit & Repair area heralds the Palma Superyacht Show making great strides, another remarkable new development is the increase of charter yachts starring in this 5th edition of the event. This substantial boost has not only been a direct result of the relative ease with which yachts can now obtain a Spanish charter license, but is also a reflection of the sheer beauty of the Balearics.

Spanish cruising grounds boast stunning beaches, turquoise waters and secret anchorages, not to mention a magical underwater world. Combine sun-drenched days, transparent warm seas and unforgettable views with the comfort and flexibility of cruising on a luxury yacht and the possibilities are endless. Visitors to the show, which are keen to charter, will not only be able to visit a selection of the hottest yachts currently available on the charter market, but will also be able to benefit from the opportunity to meet and chat with the yachts’ crew.

One of the charter yachts on show this year, which is sure to steal the spot light, is the 42.98m sleek sailing yacht THIS IS US. She’s, easily, one of the most elegant performance sailing yachts currently on the charter market. Aside from being ideal for racing (she won the 2012 edition of the St Barth’s Bucket regatta) this eye-catcher has also been optimized for family cruises. Additionally, THIS IS US has a lifting keel enabling access to those shallow, empty, unspoiled Bays the Balearics hide.

A different kind of dream boat is the 33.39m motor yacht HELIAD II. The remarkably stylish steel-hulled displacement vessel boasts huge volume and onboard comforts, which are second to none. Guests will love her alfresco dining areas, which are perfect for long lunches on languid summer days. For adrenalin-fuelled fun she has a myriad of water toys available, including kayaks, paddle boards, a stand up jet-ski and much more.

For the fourth year running, the team at Blue Café & Gastrobar will be serving acclaimed dishes by Michelin-starred chef Marc Fosh. As one of Britain’s most successful culinary exports, Fosh is famous for his unique culinary style, centred on clean tastes and intense flavours. Another returning favourite from last year's show is the luxurious Nyetimber Lounge, sponsored by the award-winning Nyetimber - also heralding from Britain. A perfectly chilled glass of Nyetimber sparkling wine will complement the gastronomic delights delivered by Fosh and his illustrious team. Combine that with the world’s finest superyachts, and the sensory experience at Palma Superyacht Show is simply unsurpassed...
