Larger Selection of Yachts and Extended Exhibition Area

Many owners are looking to build or buy bigger yachts and we’re excited to announce that this ‘growing’ trend will be reflected in the next edition of yachting’s favourite event, the Palma Superyacht Show.

The yachting industry’s most acclaimed brokerage houses, such as Northrop & Johnson, Fraser Yachts and Burgess will return with some truly magnificent boats next year. Think yachts that have won regattas, prestigious awards or simply render onlookers speechless with their stunning lines. And while one of the show’s trademark characteristics is its 50/50 ratio between motor and sailing yachts, the demand for motor yachts has been steadily increasing. In fact, last year’s biggest yacht was the 59m motor yacht MAYBE, largest private yacht to have ever been built and designed in Spain. Likewise, our 2018 edition will see a number of mega motoryachts, boasting unsurpassable luxuries, vie for the attention of local and international visitors alike.

Another exciting development is that our 6th event will feature no less than 80 super yachts over 24m for sale and / or charter. A weighty increase from last year which saw 60 boats show off their clean decks and/or smartly thought-out interiors. Expect to be able to admire anything from triple decked stunners which offer ample space and top level-comfort to sleek performance cruisers poised to excel at the next regatta. All yachts will be immediately available for charter and/or sale - just in time to cruise the turquoise waters of the Balearics and enjoy the Mediterranean summer season, which starts right after the show.

The aforementioned larger selection of (bigger) yachts will be accommodated by means of an extended show area, both on and off the water.

Yachting’s key players continue to mark their presence on-site

As well as international brokerage houses having confirmed to participate with some of the most talked about yachts currently on the (charter) market many of last year’s shoreside exhibitors have also affirmed their return. Bluewater, Pantaenius and Yachting Pages are only a few of yachting’s key players that will continue to mark their presence on-site.

Carrie Plummer, Yachting Pages’ Operations manager commented: “We always look forward to our participation at the Palma Superyacht Show and await it’s arrival with great anticipation. The show is a key date in our calendar as a marker of the start of the yachting season, and fits perfectly with our launch of the new Yachting Pages Mediterranean Directories. It’s a great opportunity to catch up with clients and partners alike in the relaxed setting the show provides.”

Bluewater’s Sophie Allerton enthused: “Bluewater were delighted to sell both boats (MY Moon and SY Limitless) that we had on display this year, and we are looking forward to another successful show in 2018”.

As in previous editions the show will take place in superyacht hub Palma de Mallorca, a cosmopolitan city that prides itself on a thriving city centre with stylish boutiques, top quality restaurants, not to mention soft, sandy beaches and Caribbean-like waters.
